The Beat Excavation

Written by on February 22, 2012 in Music - Comments Off

The Beat Excavation is a Beat Routes youth project funded by the Heritage Lottery, which aims to track down musicians with links to Slough and document some of their adventures in music. The project ultimately helps young people understand how music brings people of different backgrounds together. The result is a unique and fascinating oral history of Slough’s diverse musical heritage, and a revealing insight into the town’s significance to the wider musical world.

Special thanks to all of the young people involved, to the musicians who agreed to interviews, and to the Heritage Lottery for making all of this possible.
